Thanks to the previous few years of effort from both the band and the conductors (especially Stuart Fawcett), from last month we are now part of the Yorkshire Area Championship section. At this level we are now competing alongside famous names such as Black Dyke, Brighouse and Rastrick and other famous names. To maintain the band at this level will require the utmost commitment from everyone concerned within the band. We want to say thank you for all the support given during 2011 and for everything in 2012, we'll need it now more than ever !!! Thank You...

As a lot of you will have noticed at our Christmas Concert, we have a new conductor with the band, Normal Law. Norman is a vastly experienced conductor and previously player, playing with such bands as Black Dyke, and moving into conducting such bands as Hepworth (which he took from the lower sections to a stable championship section band), Old Silkstone and Wakefield Metropolitan. The band, committee and I'm sure supporters are looking forward to a good 2012 with Norman at the helm.
