 Meltham Community Brass

This group is for both adult and children who already play a brass instrument.  If you are looking to join a band for a better understanding of playing in a band then please come along and meet us.

Sessions  are free of charge and a brass instrument will also be supplied on loan free of charge. The only thing we ask is you regularly attend lessons and rehearsals.

The band meets every Tuesday from 6 to 7pm at the band room to rehearse with their conductor John Turner. John is also a member of the senior band and has 59 years of experience.

Meltham and Meltham Mills Band was formed in 1846. Over the years the band has seen many players start in the Junior and Training sections working their way up and going onto many successes within the Senior Band and elsewhere, including the The Band of Grenadier Guards, travelling processions bands and cruise ships to name a few.

The Junior Band relies on donations and volunteers in order to operate and enable budding musicians, young and old to have access to free lessons, groups and instruments (on loan).

Joining a band has proved to help with educational, social and mental wellbeing for people of all ages, from all backgrounds. Forming part of a band/group is highly beneficial for those who wish to take their music grades, as it can help achieve higher marks due to better understanding of timings and various parts.

New players are always most welcome, so please do get in contact for further advice or information. Alternatively, you can email us by clicking Contact Us.
